Ruth takes on a select number of commissions each year, ranging from small studies to large landscapes.

Commissions always start with a conversation. Past works often reflect the client's deep connection with a particular aspect of a landscape, with Ruth discussing these details with her clients in her initial conversations with them, shaping her approach to the work. Clients often request a connection with family members to underpin a painting's theme, from grandchildren through to celebrating the memories of loved ones.
